New Board Member Orientation

Mr. Perrotti and I drove up to Phoenix for the New Member Orientation on December 15th, 2010 and stayed for the ASBA/ASA 53rd Annual Conference.  Dr. Crandall was thrilled to have all the Board Members participate in the New Board Member Orientation.  This marked a first for him since his tenure on the Tombstone USD where all the Board Members of Tombstone USD learned together how to be the best Board Members for Tombstone USD.

The day of learning was reminiscent of  school days. We learned many new acronyms (and I thought I already knew all the education acronyms there were).  Some of what I learned at the County New School Board Orientation was repeated, such as our roles and responsibilities, along with legal and ethical responsibilities were repeated, but with more detail.  We also received an overview of AZ school finance and budgeting.
